The Suwannee River is a beautiful attraction that residents and tourists love. The river stretches 246 miles from Southern Georgia to the Gulf of Mexico. Not only is this river refreshing and beautiful, it is full of history. Paleo Indians, Spanish explorers, settlers, and Confederate Soldiers all left their footprint on the Suwannee. At Troy Springs State Park, visitors can see remaining fragments of the steamship Madison which belonged to captain James Tucker.
